Not only will props pique the curiosity and engagement of your audience, but the chances of them retaining the content will likely increase, as well. How? Because The Props Hook provides an anchor for the students' new learning. 

Think back to the last presentation you saw when the presenter had a prop. Within just a few minutes, you will likely recall the main content of that speech that was directly connected to the prop. It really works!

Consider these questions when planning for this hook...

• What physical item can I bring in to add to my lesson?
• What image can I show or, better yet, pass around the room?
• Instead of just talking about the book, can I bring it?
• What can I add to this lesson that students could actually hold in their hands?
